Bay 6 Games Set For TV & Web; also some O.J. Simpson historical trivia:
LIVE AREA TELECAST & HD WEBCAST FOR SATURDAY’S COLLEGE FOOTBALL SHOWDOWN
The local college football schedule DOES have a major football showdown Saturday (Oct. 29).
Defending California Community College Athletic Association state champion City College of San Francisco visits long time rival College of San Mateo Saturday in a 1 p.m. battle of 2-0 Bay 6 League teams.
The game will have live TV and web coverage on PenTV (throughout San Mateo County) and be streamed in hi def on the web on baosn.tv.
The winner will have hold the undisputed league lead with two weeks left in the regular season.
The two teams have been playing since 1936, when CSM won the initial meeting, 7-0
CCSF (5-2 overall) is ranked No. 6 in the state this week after knocking off formerly undefeated Santa Rosa JC, 34-21, last week. Santa Rosa (6-1) fell from No. 2 to 7 in the state poll and this week hosts state No. 13 Diablo Valley (5-2) in a meeting of the co-third place squad – which will be streamed live on the web – at ysn365.com. Both teams are 1-1 in league, with the losses coming from CCSF.
San Mateo plays both of those teams the final two weeks – at Santa Rosa, Nov. 5, and then hosting DVC, Nov. 12. Those games will be streamed live.
VALLEY SHOWDOWN ALSO TO BE WEBCAST: Saturday night’s 6 p.m. Chabot at Modesto JC battle of 2-0 Valley League teams will also be webcast in HD by baosn.tv
OJ NOTE -- From the history book:
Fifty years ago, in 1966, O.J. Simpson set National JC/CC records for CCSF, rushing for 1,365 yards and scoring 27 touchdowns and 166 total points during a 9-game season. CCSF beat CSM, 40-13, that year.
