Reedley's Josh Allen outduels Butte's Aaron Rodgers on Monday Night Football
SAN MATEO - It was Reedley College’s Josh Allen over Butte College’s Aaron Rodgers in an all Northern California Football Conference showdown on ABC’s Monday Night Football this week. Two of the NFL’s top quarterbacks are NCFC and California Community College Athletic Association products.
The Rodgers HM pass actually covered approximately 61 yards, from where he threw it to where it was caught in the end zone. No other current player has more than two HM competitions, according to ABC.
Rodgers played at Butte in 2002 and Allen at Reedley in 2014.
PULP FICTION WITH RODGERS & ALLEN
Monday Night Football celebrated the 30th anniversary of the release of “Pulp Fiction” with a quarterback feature, noting that Rodgers has the “most TD passes in the NFL since 2008,” over 120 more than any other active player. Allen, a bit younger, has the “most passing and rushing TDs in the NFL since 2019,” almost 30 more than any other player, according to the TV report.
ANOTHER CCC ALUMNI SHOWDOWN UPCOMING SUNDAY
California Community College alumni continue to be in the national spotlight, with Sunday’s (Oct. 20) upcoming Super Bowl rematch, featuring Coach Andy Reid of Kansas City, a former Glendale College lineman (1976-77), visiting the San Francisco 49ers, who feature star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk from Sierra College (2016-17) and punter Mitch Wishnowsky out of Santa Barbara City College (2014). K.C. has a star cornerback in Jaylen Watson from Ventura College (2017-18).
